When to Stress Test?

I am just finishing up my first build:
i5-4670k, AsRock z87 Pro3, H100i corsair cooler, 8 gb g.skill sniper

Should i wait a while before running stress tests? What are the best programs to monitor my temps and test? I plan to overclock eventually, but i want to wait a month or so before i attempt that. thanks!

There are no one-size-fits-all stress tests available that I am aware of. There are different ones that cover several components. I'd recommend looking at MemTest and OCCT for a start. OCCT has temp monitoring built in and is available in a free version It will stress test CPU, memory, GPU and PSU. HOWEVER, be warned, the OCCT PSU stress test CAN cause damage, so do your homework and read up all you can before attempting to run it. MemTest just tests your memory and is also free. There are many other stress programs available, most of them free, along with a variety of benchmarking programs available on the internet.

edit: Prime 95 is also a good one for stress testing CPU/memory.
