My RIG has Ryzen 5 3600 , GTX 1660 6 Gb , 16 GB 3000 mHz dual channel , Corsair cx 550 , Gigabyte B450m Gaming and HDD + SSD storage.
Due to current shortage problem, I have to continue using the 1660 but I wanted to know for how long can I keep this GPU before it starts to show its age.

I play most AAA and most graphic intensive games on 144 hz Panel, I noticed that this rig gives me a decent 100+ fps in most of the games I play with a rare few exceptions for now.
By the time this card becomes underperforming, do you think prices will sort out and will I be able to keep the other components of my RIG ? or will I have to upgrade everything along with the GPU.

Also do you think its a good idea to sell my card for around 35000 INR right now and upgrade during this period? Ironically I bought the 1660 for exactly 16600 about 2 years ago and right now people are willing to pay around 35K INR for it on OLX. I will still need to dish out another 35000 INR if I get say a RTX 3060 ti but then that would be around its Original msrp price.
I am just totally confused and also depressed due to the pricing situation.

P.S. INR = Indian National Rupee
I live in India near NCR, here on ground GPU price = Price Inflation + Luxury Item Import TAX Slab (Currently a new 1660 is selling for around 55000 INR (~$725))

Solution
How long it will last depends heavily on your expectations. You may get another 2-3+ years out of it. It's really a question of how low (graphics-settings-wise) are you willing to go.
I've bought and sold 2 GPUs over the last 16 months to take advantage of the inflated pricing. I'm now sitting on an AMD reference RX 6900 XT that cost me below $800 net, after the sales of the other cards. I think the India import and lux tax hurts your profit making potential though.

Be careful with that PSU. Too much of an upgrade and you'll need to replace your PSU as well.

Im guessing you are playing at 1080p?. If you ask me as long as you keep getting ~100 FPS on most games theres no need to upgrade. But is up to you to spend the money or not.

No one knows fopr sure when will this price insanity end.

As long as we have the global pandemic + the chip shortage + proof of work for mining, then I would guess 2024 with some luck. But hey, thats my forecast.
