When will the quest for artifacts end? I know it was extended,
but I thought it would go out with patch 32. The UO page only
mentions the end of the invasion of Britain with patch 32.

Is this quest for artifacts going to on until patch 33? That could
be months.

It took me ages to get my first one, but now every time I go out
I seem to get one, so I keep saving them until I get 10 and trade
them in. I do not want stuck with some junk, that I hate to toss
out, but don't want.

Anyone read anything about the end?

Initially it was supposed to end with patch 32 and/or last for 2 months
but now it has been extended to 3 months which I expect will probably just
be until patch 33. They really sounded like they were in no hurry to turn
it off.

You know it might be in your best intrest to hold on to them things. Think
about what they maybe worth a year from now. I've been stock pilling the
Tombs of Lost Knowledge. I do have a GM Scribe so I fill them too. I then
throw them in a bag and tag it with a don't open till Christmas tag. ;)

The Tombs of Lost Knowledge are not much better than the ones a good
scribe can make now, plus they are not "blessed". I have kept a few
of the sword racks, two chests, and a few bow's for my archers,
that I thought could become "rare" with time.

The best thing about the bows is at least one of them is self repairing.
I really like that ability. :)

I'd like to get some of that stuff, but I can not kill a ronin or
the laughing boy by myself.

All you really need is Magery (GM level or better) and a 100% LRC suit.
Spawn 2 Energy Vortexs and Invis yourself. Thats in the Fan Dancer Dojo
anyways. Stay away from the Ronins and the Sucubus. Them things are way
wicked. At least you stand a chance with the Fan dancers. I usually go
hunting with a partner. Loot the gold and send it to the bank when ya get
weighted and wait for the majic Arty drop in your bag. Keep the arty and
splitt the gold.I've made 1/2 mill in gold in about 6 hours down there and
got a few arties. Its not as easy to do since they nerfed the amount of EVs
you can spawn. 2 EVs actually have a bit of a problem with a fan dancer.
They usually won't last threw 2 of them. Anyways. Thats what I do. Works for
me.

The chest has 10 weapons/armors inside, so it counts as 11 items if stored.
I opened two chests, all 20 items are junks. Loots from level 4 monsters are
better than these. I suggest you exchange the chests as soon as possible.

Did you know that you can put the chests,(or any locked box) on a
vendor and open it and see what's in it without unlocking the chest?

I discovered it by accident, but I have been checking each chest
before I turn them in, just to make sure there is nothing really
good inside.

GM Magery isnt really that hard to get, doing champ spawn on tokuno will
get you there :), and a 100% LRC suit isn't that hard to get hold of
either these days. You may have to lower your resist, but its worth it.

Yea. Thats the thing. I never said my LRC suit was a work of art. Well maybe
it is. Combo of leather, Barbed leather, platemail, bone armor and chainmail
and a 15% LRC Spell book. Looks hidious. LMC is a blazing 2% and maybe the
resists total 120 total. Its hidious. Never said I didn't have to run. Thats
why I said take a friend. Two is better than 1. Piece together a funky LRC
suit and go 8X8 on a boat to gain magery if you have to. Sholuldn't take you
more than a few days. But thanks for seeing some humor in it. :p

You do not have to kill big stuff to get artifacts. You can go to the
"Waste Lands" and kill Deathwatch Beetles and Orc and get them
"almost" as fast as I do killing Fire Elementals and Hell Hounds.

There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to when they pass
out an artifact. Some times I kill 20 Fire Elemental and get one, and
some times it takes 60 or more. When my connection was bad or
a lighting storm was approaching and I was afraid of lost connection,
I have just killed Orc and Deathwatch beetles and got artifacts with
40 to 50 kills. I have started to think it has to do with how many
people are on the server. If I get on just after the server comes
up, early in the morning, I can get two or three artifacts in 30 min..
If I am on between 3PM to 9PM, it may take an hour to get one
artifact.

You cant use the excuse that you cant kill the big stuff. There
are "young" characters in the waste land getting artifacts.

There is a random chance to get a "tomartie". Each creature you kill over
there (except cranes) adds a bit to your random chance. Tougher creatures
add more than easy ones. This random chance modifier is saved from game
session to session. So eventually you will get a tomartie, but then the
modifier is cleared and you will start accumulating it again as you kill
more creatures.

So it's possible (from the randomness) to get a tomartie "too soon" or
"too late" but it should average out if you keep killing the same type of
creatures.

The Tome of Lost Knowledge combined with the Rune Beetle Carapace gives
you 30% LMC. This means that almost every wrestlemage who has 20 tokuno
minors just needs to throw on a couple of 5% pieces and he has capped
LMC. This just makes competing with the super-rich a little easier, to
be sure.

It is actually easier to get a ToLK than it is to get a scribed book
that has all the properties it does, and it has them at intensities the
book can't match.

That being said, I prefer the Tome of Enlightenment for chivalry mages.

DWB's and larva seem to be rather docile. Are there any kharma hits
