Backstory:
I was trying my old radeon r5 240 (it had been wet previously) in my system with a r5 3400g, 16gb of 3000 ddr4 ram, and a $150 case,(i forgot the mobo), 430w psu, 480gb sad. and a transistor caught on fire and ruined everything (except mobo)

Problem
Since the bad gpu was in a pcie x16 slot, was the slot harmed most likely? (i want to sell the mobo)

End Result
I have a old dell mobo, 4gb ddr2 ram, 420w psu, 7200 rpm hdd, and a athlon ii x4 640 and on the search for a insanely cheap gpu (like really really cheap)

No way to know without testing it with another graphics card. Testing with just the APU won't tell you if the PCI-Ex16 slot is still functional.

I'd check e-bay for HD5450s or GT710s.
