Whenever i try to update my windows 8.1, it freezes or hangs

The title says it all, i want to update so that i can get windows 10 but whenever i do the window just freezes and i need to run task manager and restart file explorer
Any help is appreciated

EDIT: also i tried running the windows update troubleshooter and this is what showed:

And u can try upgrading using media creation tool

ive used the media creation tool before and i get the error message: 80080005

Vivek, for future reference, windows 10 doesnt give you a "Key" and the full ISO install will not accept keys from 7 or 8/8.1; it will only work AFTER you complete the upgrade to 10 and then it will use your key that ms has on the cloud.
