Where are all the 5970s?

Do you guys know why there appears to be a shortage of 5970s? They don't have any on newegg and only a few on amazon. Do you guys know what's up and when they might be more available?

The HD5970 has been EOL (End of line) for quite some time now, they've been discontinued so no more will be produced, its essentially been replaced by the HD6990.

If you really must have a HD5970 then I'd suggest looking for a second hand one on Ebay.

That's really strang that they would EOL the 5970 but still sell the 5750 and 5770 on newegg. Maybe they just have a lot of previous stock?

Its highly likely that AMD made alot more mid range cards like the HD5700 series as there's much more of a market for them in comparison to a enthusiast card like the HD5970.
