Update, people who listen to me talk on the mice hear static, I dont hear static while listening to music. I do have the microphone volume all the way up, but if I dont, then my voice is way to low for anyone to hear me.

Solution
I would Replace the headset, The motherboard is Fully or Should be Tested before they ship it to you and is a huge pain to replace My Vote is Bad Mic/ headset Pick up a new one from Bestbuy or Test it on another computer to be 100%
If you are using Asus make sure you are not running two Sound drivers like one for the EVGA 980ti SC+ ACX 2.0 and one for the motherboard I Would suggest removing the GPU Sound Drivers and keep the Motherboard Helped me in the past.

not sure how to remove the gpu sound driver and i didnt have to do it with my old motherboard

That's the drivers/BIOS page for the Asus asus z97-a/usb 3.1, the one you said you have 😉 It shows in the URL and the upper left of the page itself. Static could come from a lot of things, I'd make sure you have the latest BIOS and mobo drivers, then clean the plug itself, blow out the socket it plugs into, could try lowering the level of the mic down, and raise the master volume of computer up. Mic level should be in the audio controls and can access by double clicking on the speaker icon in the lower right of the desktop

Use : http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

To Safely remove the old Video drivers make sure to download the new ones and uninstall the old Drive in safe mode the Guru lets you boot right into safe mode.

When you install the new Drivers make sure to uncheck the Sound drivers, This helped and I use a Asus Motherboard , both of those Audio Drivers are old as Hell Windows should auto update them after you Uninstall the old Audio Drivers.

This helped me but My motherboard is a Sabertooth a bit different Good Luck

Don't Think I Agree with you there Updating the bio for a Sound problem would be the last thing on my List, You need to rule things out like hardware Cables headset Drivers and so on... it is most likely a Driver problem but you can rule that out quickly by removing the Drivers let windows update and Test it.

But bios updating is the last thing I Would do Just my two cents

Agreed Tradesman1 it can sometimes have it but after reviewing his updated bios it has nothing to do with his Sound

Z97-A/USB 3.1 BIOS 2801
Improve system stability.

2015/11/13 This thing is old~

Realtek® ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC featuring Crystal Sound 2
- Supports : Jack-detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel MIC Jack-retasking

the Same Audio they use in so many motherboards

Is the Sound hardware Same one that I use with SabertoothZ77 and I had The Same Problem Trust me remove the Nvidia Sound driver and make sure you are using the updated Driver

Here is a link

Windows 10 64bit

it can be hard to find click the support link

This is something the mobo makers all do, for any given BIOS update, they might list 1-2 items, when in fact there are often tons of changes/fixes, especially for DRAM. Also, if they have any major problems they come across you will seldom ever see those listed in the BIOS update 'recap' they don't want to tell the world they screwed up.

A couple questions. How do I remove NVIDIA sound driver. Second, that link can be used for windows 8.1?

The only way to remove the sound driver is to use ddu and reintall the whole thing? its weird this didnt happen on my old motherboard.

it is the best way to safely remove Video Drivers, I have had a ton of Sound problems From Asus, When you are using the Video Sound plus the realtek sound Driver, it can cause issues with playback and Mic.

Ok well i reinstalled the realtek and still static, how should I have my realtek set up is it maybe i have the microphone too high

So Drivers most likely is not the problem if you removed the Video sound Drivers and reinstalled the new realtek Drivers.

If you remove the headset Mic do you still hear the Statc ?

From the speakers ?

i dont know they said they couldnt hear static i think they just were saying that because when i go to Sound Recorder i hear it. my mic is turned all the way up in properties and the Mic Boost is up half way..if I dont turnt he mic all the way up no one can hear me if I do turn it up its static 🙁

Dude you most likely got a jacked up Mic, did you try using a different program, like windows playback?

Windows play test Go here

Control Panel\Hardware and Sound if you are using Windows 10 right click left side windows Icon control Panel, Sound, Manager Audio Devices and Configure the mic and Test it yourself if you Hear no Static nothing wrong with the Driver or Program you are using ... if you do Hear the Static it's the Mic.
