I've run into a little confusion pertaining to the location of on board GPUs. I've hear some people say that it's part of the chip-set and the board itself. Meanwhile i've heard other people say that their on board graphics are part of the processor. Where exactly are on board graphics located? Are they removable or transferable?

Solution
Just to re-phrase:

Newer on-board graphics are located within the Intel CPU processor itself. Older versions are a chip on the motherboard. To use it you need a port on the back of your computer (where the rest of the cables are plugged in) for a video cable. These video ports will fit either a VGA, DVI, or HDMI cable.
on board graphics or integrated graphics are not removable or transferable. With all the latest Intel CPU there is an integrated graphic chip, now in order to use it your motherboard needs to have the ports for it, VGA, DVI or HDMI to use the integrated video. Older boards and maybe some newer come with an integrated graphic chip.

Solution
Intel i3, i5, and i7 processors all have the graphics processor integrated into the chip. Xeon processors do not. On the AMD side AMD APU's also have integrated graphics , but FX-Series and Athlon processors do not.

Now some motherboards (especially server boards) have very low level quality graphics chipset built in to get you going if you do not have one of those types of processors. Either way these chips if they are there are not removeable.
