Where can I buy a AMD Phenom II X4 965

I've looked all over the place, and I can't find a non-shady place to buy it. What's your go to for older parts like these? Also, why is it so hard to find?

That processor and its brethren have been out of production for several years. The stock of new has long since dried up. Those of us that have them want to either keep them or let them go at a premium. Ebay is the usual place to search out used obsolete processors like that. But you never know how many owners they've been thru and how they were treated. Mine is a 965 BE that I got lucky and found new in box on ebay awhile back.

Seems like it'd be a simple upgrade. I currently have a AMD Phenom II X4 810, so I figure swapping the CPUs shouldn't be difficult

Ebay. I upgraded from that exact CPU and will be throwing it up for sale on EBay shortly. There are a ton for sale.
