I used to buy DELL and could choose my processor/ram/HD etc. Now they seem to sell only pre-packaged desktops (if I am mistaken, please provide a link).

I want, at least, an Intel I5, 8-12 GB ram, SSD system drive, USB3, and a HDD for data. Do any reputable firms still permit custom configs, or will I have to to it myself?

Thanks in advance,

cyberpowerpc and ibuypower are 2 sites that will allow you to customize a prebuilt system. you can of course get more for your money building it yourself, but if you wish to go prebuilt, these are 2 good options. there are others as well and i'm sure someone will list them as well but these 2 are solid companies that offer decent stuff.

if you liked your dell and don't want to build a system yourself, id check out dell xps 8700. I just bought one with an i7, chose the ram I wanted, then popped an ssd in there. although they do have models with SSD's. I think they have i5 models with SSD's also
