How can I find a motherboard upgrade for my 6 year old acer Aspire desktop TC-780-acki3? Is it possible? I just want to be able to run Windows 11, to match the other three PCs in the house.

I hate discarding old, but functional, equipment. Maybe it's 8 years old. Over the years I have upgraded the PC, memory and added an SSD.

Thanks.

Is the case proprietary?
Can you show/link to a photo of the motherboard and inside of the case?
It looks to be a MATX size so you may well be able to install something and keep the case and ra

I can't seem to upload a photo. Is there a trick to it?

"Image cannot be loaded from passed link."

Thank you. My current board is about 9.5" x 7.5". What do I need to know if the Asus will fit and connect everything? Are all the connectors standard. Like the power supply & drives?

Just some more info for you off Tom's
Thanks.

Looks like rehabbing this old thing isn't in the cards. I'll continue to limp along until I just get a new one.

Maybe a slight change in your plans but a path forward for windows 11 on the old Pc.

It seems the trade off from Microsoft is you get a water mark" Windows installed on unsupported hardware" on the lower right side of your screen. But than your running 11 with Microsoft's official blessing , concede.

Oh and by the way if you don't like that water mark " Windows installed on unsupported hardware" hop on over to majorgeeks.com and there is a tool to remove that said water mark.
