Hey guys, I have a budget of 1.5k max but prefer to keep it under 1k. I'm looking for a gaming pc tower that I can get built for me that will run games of today and future games. I play BF4, Titanfall, GTA V, Skyrim, Farcry 3/4 and Assassin's Creed Unity. I'd like to be able to play on high/ultra settings.

Looking for the latest i5 or i7 if it's decently priced. Nvidia would be good, at least 3gb dedicated. I'd like 1TB of storage on SSD and at least 8GB of RAM. It doesn't matter too much about the case but a window would be cool. Please let me know what website or pc builder I can go through and how much everything will cost.

I'm located in Perth, Australia so something that is based in Perth or can ship here is best.

Cheers :)

I can't really put together a build for you properly as I'm on holidays at the moment and my laptop ran out of battery and I forgot the charger lol. However, I can think of something that will fit your needs, but no accurate pricing - I can give you a rough build.

PCCaseGear is a good place to order computer parts - I ordered the parts for my first (and current) custom built PC from there, however the prices you'll find on there aren't necessarily the lowest but it's simpler than ordering from multiple places at once, just so that you may return something immediately if it doesn't work.

A few things about my part choices for you based off knowledge and a little bit of experience. For gaming, no current game at the moment requires a (modern) Intel Core i7. An i5 is sufficient and ideal, outperforming ALL AMD CPUs for gaming and most multitasking/rendering tasks.

Anything more than 240/250gb for an SSD is not worth it price/worth wise. Yes, there are 512/1TB SSDs available and you might be able to fit a ton of stuff on it but honestly 250gb is the most you'll need, coupled with a fast 7200RPM mechanical HDD that is 1-3TB for storage. Another thing, 10+TB SSDs are expected to be coming real soon (2015 or 2016) at affordable prices. I can fit a lot of what I need on my 120GB SSD including a couple games, with other games and other files on my HDD.

My case choice for you might be a bit expensive but I have the same case and it is awesome in terms of aesthetics, stability, usefulness, airflow and cable management. Anyway, here's what I think you should get.

Windows 8.1 64-bit - Around $100
Intel Core i5 4670/90 - Around $220 or $250
H97 motherboard - $100
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 w/ 4GB GDDR5 VRAM - $400
Corsair HX/AX, Antec, XFX, Seasonic 550/650W PSU (750W or 800W if you want to do SLI) - around $150
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD - $100-ish
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD 7200RPM Internal - $100

For RAM, Corsair Vengeance/G.Skill are pretty much the best brands, 'however' when it comes to RAM almost any brand will do - $100 for dual-channel 4x2GB DDR3-1600mhz/1866mhz
Fractal Define Design R4 w/ a Window - $150

Total cost equates to roughly $1450-1500 plus shipping (an extra $100 approximately). This is a rough guide, let me know what you think. This computer is capable of running every game out there maxed out at 1080p w/ 60+ FPS based on my research with options for upgradeability.

I'm putting together a PC build for you, I'll put it in the next post. You'd have to get your local PC store to build it for you if you don't want to build it yourself. They should build it, install the operating system and get all of the latest drivers on it for about $100.

By the way you are never going to get a 1TB SSD for less than $500. I hope you meant a small SSD for the OS and a 1TB HDD for your data.

Yes, this build is slightly over $1.5k but it would last for years! To get it under $1.5k you'd have to not get an SSD.

With this build you could SLI another 770 if you wanted to. It features a 750 Watt PSU from the best brand out there (it's also fully modular) and it has an aftermarket cooler so you could overclock really well. If you went with AMD though you could do it a lot cheaper. I also added two 140mm fans to keep the system running cooler. The case has the window you wanted too. It also has more upgrade options than the other guys build.

In Australia you are never going to find a 4GB 970 for less than $450 let alone one from EVGA.
