The mobo has M5ALC printed on it, and a North/Southbridge of ALI M1541 and 1543 respectively. As far as I can tell, the system's vintage is 1999 or 98.
MSI has no record of this on their site and customer support has no idea what it is either.
I know Tom's is a more modern place, but I don't know any retro forums to ask, so maybe I could be pointed to some.
I picked up a, so far as I can tell, unbranded old PC earlier today at an outlet store. No RAM or HDD but I'll sort those out later. I hooked it up to a big ol Sony CRT my friend picked up there during the same outing, but it said there was no video going in, so I have no idea if it reached the BIOS without RAM, the lovely #9 graphics card isn't working, the monitor's VGA in broke after being on a shelf for 15 years, or my VGA cable is broken.
