EDIT: The post actually said that it was a working key, but just couldn't be used to upgrade Windows 10 Home -> Pro. May not be legit, but in this case at least it worked.
When I'm spending money on a product, the only time I want to see the word 'lottery' is when I am buying an actual lottery ticket.

I haven't actually seen a situation where it hasn't worked yet. I'd say that you have similar chances of failure as if you bought from somewhere like G2A - not 100% guaranteed but pretty close.

G2A is no more a legitimate reseller than Kinguin is.
They are simply different white vans in the walmart parking lot, selling different stolen TV's.
Whereas Amazon/Newegg/Microcenter is like going into the actual store and buying an actual legit box with your product. 100% guaranteed, not 'close'.
The Windows OS is just as much a part of the cost of a new system as the CPU or PSU is. If you don't like that, then either go with a free linux distro or don't build a new system.
<Redacted by Moderator> is a pretty good place to go. Of course it's a little sketchy but I've had friends who purchased windows and other apps without a problem here.
Moderator comment - Even the parent site does not like that.
Edit: yeah, just looked into it some more, not what I thought it was.
