Where can I legally purchase a windows 7 home premium product key?

So I goofed... I was patching up a friends computer recently and reinstalling Win7 home.

I formatted the computer installed windows with no problem but... he had removed his product key sticker and every other sticker on his computer.

He has no problem purchasing a new key but I havent the faintest idea about where to legitimately buy one. Im hesitant to use ebay or the like but would gladly buy one from a reputable source.

So I cant just buy a digital copy? I have to purchase the install DVD and physical media?

Yes. After Windows 8 was released, MS no longer allows resellers to sell the key only.
The license is what actually costs. The install media is trivial, and freely available.

I was able to buy a ultimate key from

It took about 15 minutes after paying the order and everything is working perfectly really good service and price.
