Where can I store my PC components while my motherboard is out on an RMA?

I'm sending my Motherboard out to be replaced, while it's out I'm not sure where to put my components since I can't ship them. I don't want to ruin my RAM/CPU from ESD. Is it okay to just place them in the bottom of my case? This is the first time I've had to do this since I first started building PCs 8 years ago- not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.... What do you guys do when this happens?

Yeah just set them down gently. I wouldn't put them in the case though, as it could easy be moved by someone if they weren't expecting loose components in there.

ESD shouldn't be an issue, there is zero danger when the components are not being handled.

Put them in the boxes they were shipped in for those parts that are lose form the case. The parts that come in electro static bags for sure.

I always keep the cases to all my stuff. At least the anti static bags. Last time I sent a motherboard in, I put my stuff in the bags, and inside the case flat and out of reach of little kiddling-type fingers. I wanted to make sure they were dust free, since the RMA process can sometimes take a month.

Yeah, ideally put them in their original packaging, but if you don't have that, just somewhere safe, and away from anything that could damage them (water, children, etc.)

Thank you all for your quick response, fortunately it's just me and my wife, no pets/kids yet- my wife knows not to touch my computer case. I've put the case on top of my desk out of the way and safe with my components inside at the bottom with the side panel secured. Thanks a bunch!
