Hello all,

I'm somewhat lost on how to view your activation key on a fresh install of Win 10. I found where to change it, but I'm not wanting to change it. I want to view it.

if this was done via a free upgrade then all you will get is a generic key. with windows 10 it assigns an ID of your computer to MS servers so if you ever need to reinstall windows on the same computer it will lookup your computers ID when you connect back to the internet after a reinstall

Well actually it was a key I typed in. It's not something downloaded. Thought I'd be able to just see it on the install.

if you go to settings-update and security-activation does it say activated with a digital licence?

Yes it does, but I just managed to change the key myself.

I had a feeling that's how it goes. Sounds like eventually it is going to be done with on these keys. I just wanted to get my keys straight, as I somehow had two installs and one key on both of them. I even read some horror scenario (via MS) that both installs would be non-op if the key is used more than once.

Well this was two installs. One on each computer.

Maybe I don't understand what you are doing because this sounds illegal.

No, two installs, one on each computer with two keys. What part is illegal?
