where did all the geforce 3s go???

i was talking to my friend recently about this.....like everyone we know at one point had a geforce 2 gts, and then i remember when the gf3's came out we talked about them for awhile, then that was it.....and then the gf4's came around and like 5-6 people i know got them.......it's wierd that hardly anyone i know has the gf3.....they just kindof......disappeared, and still to this day i know hardly anyone that has ever had or even seen a gf3....

That's probably because the GeForce 3 line really was geared toward the Enthusiast a little more than the GeForce 4 was. Don't get me wrong, GeForce 4 Ti was geared for the Enthusiast too, but the GeForce3 products were always pretty expensive. I guess you can say that the Ti200 didn't have bad prices back then, but for months, the only GeForce3 that could be purchased was the original one, and that sold for several hundred dollars apeice for many many months.

ah...true......but my friend just pointed out that back then upgrading wasn't even neccesary, because the gf2's were so good, in fact i have a friend that to this day still uses his, and he's had it for like 3-4 years and he can play ut 2k3 just fine

Me too i still use my GF2 GTS for all games. UT2k3, splinter cells with descent frame rates. I waiting AFTER HL2 to upgrade, probably for christmass.

a nice 9600 pro or 9600 pro XT depending on prices.

I just picked up a GF3 Ti200 on ebay for thirty bucks. Bought it for a friend who had a Geforce2 MX.

The GF3 Ti200 is a great, cheap card. And this one didn't even need a cooling fan, very quiet.

I had a gf3 and I had a lot of fun with that card. It managed to get a pretty nice overclock as well, over the gf3ti500 stock speed.
