Question Where do files deleted from a shared network folder go?

I have a desktop PC that shares a folder over my LAN network that I can access from my laptop. When working on the laptop, I sometimes put files in there as a backup. However, when trying to access one file today, I accidentally deleted it and it's nowhere to be found now, not in my laptop's, nor in my desktop's recycle bin. How can I restore the deleted file?

Didn't work unfortunately, the file type I'm trying to recover is .mlapp, but Recuva seems to recover only basic file types (photos, videos, documents, mail, etc).
