Where do I find customers for a custom pc building business?

Marketing yourself, networking with friends and family, advertising.

Yes but how do I do this?

1. You ever fix or build PC's for friends and family? Word of mouth is powerful. "My nephew Jimmy built this beast for me, and...."
2. Craigslist
3. Take an ad out in whatever free newspapers are in your area.

How many custom PC's have you built and sold?

I can't do it on craigslist in my area its not good to use craigslist. Should I fix pcs and build them? Also I'm starting this I need to know how to get starting customers!

From your original:
I would like to know if there is any way I can get more customers for my custom pc building business.

How many have you built and sold?
How many have you fixed (other peoples devices)?

If you're looking to go from 0 to more than 0, then you're doing it wrong.
If you're looking to go from 100 to 200....marketing.

No craigslist? What area are you in?
What are you actually trying to do? Start a business, or increase business?

And the previous comment about college and marketing classes was right on point.

Start one! There is craigslist there are just too many scammers so no one uses it!

OK...you're trying to 'start'.
Building 'custom PC's' is not the way to start.

Convince me why I should pay you to make one for me.
What experience do you have?
If it breaks at 2AM during a heavy gaming session, can I call your helpline?
Who can I ask for references?

Built 5 Sold 0 and I really didn't build 5 just when ever I upgrade mine I take it apart and start over for practice so I can build some for others and if it breaks then u can email me and I will fix it!

So, you've never actually sold one.

Start doing that. Friends and family. Convince them first.

I have a small family and I tried that before!

OK, and...?

Right now, you're presenting to me as a person with zero experience.
Convince me.

I've taken apart over 50 computers and build 5 I have parts so I can build more!

You're not convincing me.

Specifically, why should I pay you to build me a PC? What do you offer?
What will it cost? Do I have to pay up front? How long will it take? What happens if something breaks?

What is your budget? That's how much!

(this is not the way to drum up business, but lets go with it)

ok...here we go

I have a budget of $600 total. This includes shipping, etc.
I need a PC, including everything except the monitor.
PC, keyboard, mouse, OS....
I wish to play BF4, on ultra settings

Let's see what you can do for me. Make me something.

(oh, and I need a specific breakdown of the cost of each part)

There that will play BF4 and a $20 fee so there is $10 to spare!

Hey! I might want one also.

It must be really hot for game play by my grandsons. Tough, rugged, and well secured for internet stuff.

My budget is only $500 and I want it before USAFRet gets his. Please send specs and possible delivery date. Preferably about two weeks before Christmas. Thank you.

Note to USAFRet.... 🙂

1. You're already over budget. $600 was specified. That parts list is $632.
2. Shipping?
3. Warranty?
4. Do I pay you up front? When do I get my PC?

You're already behind the money curve. If I were to give you $600, you'd have to spend no more than $525 on the relevant parts. If you wish to make a profit of some sort.

In answer to your original question:
Where do I find customers for a custom pc building business?

You have not shown anything that would lead me to pay you to build me a PC.
Old, crappy parts, already over budget, zero experience, zero marketing skills, etc, etc.

Building 'custom PC's' and actually making an actual profit is insanely hard. You're competing against billion dollar companies (BestBuy, CyberPower, Dell, Newegg...), or against local stores that have been there for years.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but maybe this is not for you at this point in time.
Start with repairs. Fix a few. Beer money.
Build a local rep. Then see what happens.
