M.2_2 is the middle one.Sorry but I do not know which one is the M.2_3, assuming it is the bottom one, thus the top one or middle one will do? Also if i later wanna get a gen5 ssd the I should go ahead and connect it to the one on the middle, am I correct in this?
You have 3x M.2 ports.
2x PCIe 4.0 x4 and 1x PCIe 5.0 x4.
The 980 Pro, being a 4.0 drive, will perform the same in any of the 3.
The M.2_3 share bandwidth with the PCIe 4.0x16 slot, so I wouldn't use that M.2 port.
Either of the other 2 are fine.
