Hi, I'm interested in networking so I built a server with ipfire on it.

Here's my current network setup: WAN > Router(Cisco RV320) > Switch(Cisco sg200) > Clients.
Should i place the firewall before or after the router, if so, how should i configure it? Or do i need to replace the router with my firewall?

Thanks

Rule of thumb, right behind the modem or the Internet NAT device.

how should i configure it?
You are asking, I'm building my own rocket, and how do I configure it?

Eh, this is a little more involved than plugging a PSU to a Motherboard. You wanna be more specific?

Or do i need to replace the router with my firewall?
You can have the FW do NAT, or not. It depends what you already have. Who, currently is doing the Internet NAT? and do you have a plain modem (no NAT) or a Gateway (yes NAT)? But whatever you want ONLY ONE NAT, and whoever is doing it sits right behind the modem.

Your VPN box, am rusty on that, may wanna consult the manual whether it wants to...
