So I'm installing an MSI 970 Gaming motherboard into my pc, and I can't figure out where to find the fan plugs. I know that I'm supposed to plug something into the male sysfan prongs, but what I assume is the plug for the fan is also male, and I can't find anywhere to plug my fans in. The wiring in my computer is a mess also.

The fan should have either 3 or 4 holes and they just go onto the motherboard usually labeled "Fan 1" or "Fan 2". If you are plugging the CPU fan in, It's usually labeled "CPU Fan".

That's what it should look like, but both the plug and the slot are male ends and looks like the right plug in this picture. Except there are only two wires running into it, and two prongs inside.

As cheap as those are, I would prefer not to buy anything extra. It's strange because the fans worked fine on my old motherboard, and I can't get them to work on the new one. I made the fatal mistake of not checking where the fans plugged in on the old motherboard before unplugging everything. I've followed the fan wire to what I assume to be the fan plug, the wiring in my computer is a mess so I'm not exactly sure. It's a male wire and so are the prongs that it's supposed to plug in to

I have my old motherboard right in front of me, I just don't remember how the fans were plugged in

Also, forgot to mention that I had no problem getting my cpu fan to work, therewas no weird plug at all just went straight in

It's cool man, it's an MSI 760GMA-P34 (FX)
It's one of the really crappy micro ones, that's why I was getting a new motherboard.

You may just need to get a new motherboard if it really is that old.
