I'm switching to a new PC and I have the product key for After Effects and Premiere CS5. Shouldn't there be an official place I go to to download the software so that it asks me for the key? I'd rather not resort to some torrent or unofficial/shady site when I legitimately own it, lol.

I don't have an acct that I know of or any discs.
So I don't think I can use these methods. I only have the key.
Also, I mistakenly said CS5, but meant CS6; I'll try to change the title of this post
But I think I might have answered my question:

It sounds like Adobe no longer officially provides links for CS6. Kind of annoying since I feel that if I buy a software, I own it forever and should be able to access it without using unofficial means. But perhaps there's an EOL agreement in place that lets them do this?

There is nothing requiring them to have downloads of everything, forever.

You purchased it at one time, and presumably downloaded it.
Keeping those downloads would have been a prudent move on your part.

But...CS6

Create an account at Adobe. That should let your d/l what you need.
Ok, I could try that! I thought I had needed an acct at the time of purchase; but I can totally try making one now and see how that goes. Thank you! If that doesn't work, I might try this:https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html
I also don't intend on being a "dinosaur" forever; so later this year, I should be buying the more current AE and Premiere versions. Thanks again!
