Where does the HDA cable go?

Hi there,

I bought a pc and I used a USB headset before, now it died and I wanted to use my normal headphone but it didn't work..

I opened up my pc and saw it wasnt connected but I can not find where the AC'97 and HDA cable go..

I have a ASUS P5E Deluxe motherboard... and the manual I found online didn't say anything about it.. please help!

Doesnt look like there's a header for it. Did yours come with an audio card?? According to the manual this mobo comes with one

No it didn't, I didn't bought it new...

The only header I'm not sure about is the ADH one down the bottom by the USB header.

The manual doesnt say what this ADH header is

If thats not the header, then you may have to buy a separate soundcard. If you want sound

I tried the ADH port with the HDA cable, but when I started the computer the cable became hot... I didn't wait to check the audio, I quickly stopped the computer and took it out...
and btw I have a Audiocard, but it seems its not the right one...
