Where in the world is 1/64, 2/64, 3/64, or anything 64th of an inch at on a ruler???

I do not know if this is where i should post this but i own a Gibson SG Standard and i need to adjust some things but everywhere i look on line and even when i messaged Gibson they all tell me i need to have a 64th of an inch ruler and use that to adjust it. For example Gibson says to make the low E string is 5/64 of an inch off the fret board when fretting the first fret and 15th fret for Truss Rod Adjustment........where is 5/64 of an inch?!?!? I have looked everywhere online and they do not exist from what i see. I tried converting it to MM but that does not help at all because it says some huge number like 3.9688 which i guess is almost 4mm? I am so confused and ready to just give up. I have adjusted many Guitars because most i have worked on go by mm and the manufacturer has the factory setup online but Gibson does not. I hope someone can help me on this.

Rulers are in 16th of an inch. Now a 1/32nd is half way between the first mark which is also 2/64th. The 1/64 is halfway of the mark you just made from the start of the ruler and 3/64 is half way between the 1/32nd and the 1/16th mark on the ruler. IE all 3 marks are all before the first 16th mark on all rulers.
Now 5/64ths is 1/4 the distance between the first and second mark.

If you look at the picture the 64ths are where his thumb is.

The 1/64 is half way to the first mark of 1/32. The 2/64 is 1/32 reduced. At 3/64 you are half way between 1/32 and 2/32. The 4/64 is 2/32 reduced. Also 2/32 is 1/16 reduced if your cwondering. At 5/64 you are half way between 2/32 and 3/32. See image below.

Any decent woodworking or metalworking supplier will have high precision metal rules with 1/64" graduations. I have a Starrett 6" unit that appears to be from the 1950s, marked in 8ths and 16ths on one face and 32nds and 64ths on the other that I use for tasks exactly like what you describe. Col. Geek brought up the product page for the currently produced version.

A dial caliper may work but you would have to use the outside measurement and be close enough to the edge of the guitar neck so the body of the caliper does not interfere with the measurement. You could simply butt a ruler flat up against the fret board and get your measurement, which is why I would recommend a ruler.

BTW, 5/64" of an inch is 1/64" of an inch beyond 1/16" (4/64").
