[SOLVED] Where in Windows 10 can I check if a PC is SATA2/SATA3?

I’m troubleshooting Windows PCs, usually remotely. Is there any fast way to determine if the SATA port is SATA2/SATA3? Without having to check the specs on Google?

I couldn’t find this in System Information. I wonder if there’s some command line to get this.

I know you said not google', but the specs for the motherboard will tell you.
Speccy can also tell you, but I'm guessing that won't be installed on a remote system.

From the command line, fsutil can tell you some things. But not SATA II/SATA III.

Possibly winstat disk

There seems to be no way on Windows itself. Best way I found is download HW Info portable, it's free, it states it under Motherboard.

Your MB part number might give specs, which might clearly relay this info.....

Certainly boards with certain chipsets were known to be SATA2 only, and, certain spinning disk drives or SSDs might be known to be SATA2. If either condition applies...then you are at SATA2 speeds. (X58 had mixture of SATA2 and SATA3 ports, whereas X48 had all SATA2) Asus AM2 boards and some AM3+ were also all SATA2 port-equipped..
