Some guy outside Hilltop wants me to find a Shadow Hart creature.
Where is it? I explored every location I think and I never came across
it.

That can be hard to find, apparently, unless you are a druid or ranger. I
think there's a map and strategy on the GameBanshee walkthrough which can be
helpful.

Best wishes

Ok thanks. That walkthru says he could not find the tracks at all with
a paladin. That is the class I am playing. Oh well. :) Sounds like you
need points in spot to see tracks made by the Shadow Hart.

I like playing as a ranger - it's dead easy then. It practically walks up
behind you and breathes on your neck. Playing SOU as a ranger or druid
gives you various bits and pieces you don't get in any other class.

Best wishes

I think I found the Shadow Hart using a Rogue build once. IIRC,
there's a little hidden grove (I think you can look over it from where
the elven ranger guy is camping). There's a chance that the Hart will
be there or something.

I went through as a bard & kept seeing it in the distance, up or down a
level on a hill. Never got close though.

I've played several different builds and have always been able to
spot/kill the Hart (albeit I think I also always had some points for
spot skill).

What I noticed, that I first had to find "animal tracks" on three
different locations and then the Hart would appear (location seems to be
random). There is a hidden access through the waterfall which will lead
to the grove. I think one of the "track" spots is down there, not sure
though.

Near as I can tell, it shows up there once you've found sufficient
clues to it.

From what I remember you had to detect it's tracks 3 times before it
would appear.

Yes, that sounds like what happened when I played too.
(I play as a Paladin, so it's definitely possible.)
