Where is mail client located

avast says to turn off SSL/TLS in my mail client. how do i do that?

Which program? In most email programs, it's under the Advanced settings. Do keep in mind some ISP email servers do require SSL. If they do, might have to turn off the email scanning in Avast.

Thanks Joe, I will certainly give this a try. However, the program is Microsoft Outlook

I'd ask Avast! They have got to have a "Help" button or something. Else google "turning off SSL/TLS in Outlook."

But NO, you don't want to turn off e-mail scanning. Most viruses come from e-mails!
