Morning.
Ok, so my gaming rig is from about 2014 and was never a powerhouse. However, it played what I needed to well enough. I just pulled the Desktop out of storage and find myself playing Shogun 2 and Kerbal Space Program, but there are a couple newer titles I would like to try. Computer startup takes quite a while and one game, Uboat, takes quite a while to load. I know that everything is out of date, but what is causing the most slowdown in loading? I know the Graphics Card needs an upgrade badly, but would that cause a slowdown when loading up a game?
Specs:
Windows 8.1
Intel i5 3570 Quad Core
8 GB RAM (Not sure what speed it is)
Gigabyte something or other Motherboard
Video Card- MSI GTX 760 2GB
Physics Card- GTX 550
I know the single weakest link is the Video Card but that doesn't explain the slow boot up or the loading to even UBoat's title screen. Could this be a slow Hard Drive issue? I have read that although CPUs are obviously faster now, the 3570 still holds up ok. That true?
