Where is my drive space disappearing to?

Cell phone. I've tried everything. Cache removal, cleaners and data removal. I have had to remove apps. Still eventually I get the storage space is low indicator and text message space is low when I don't even have any stored. Frustrating. I have plenty of SD card space but I fluctuate between 45 mgs of storage and 29 mgs of storage.
