Short of doing a Windows system restore to date when you had it, this may work

Printer icon? What do you need a printer icon for, when you see something you want to print just right click and hit "print".

They may want it for other functions like check ink level, nozzle maint etc.

What brand, how new ? Mine is older Epson , has maint for head align / nozzle flush, but have to right click the icon and bring up maint menu.
