Question where is my windows 7 Medial player go

I was looking for a simple audio recorder for my android nexus 7 tablet and having a hard time finding one, and then i thought windows media player should give me that option to record audio, but its not installed as far as i can tell when i do a search on my win 7 system. I thought they were automatically installed with the system? Anyhow, I am open to download any simple recorder that would work on win 7 and am denied when i inform them that i want it for my Nexus 7 -13 tablet, but now i will settle just even for windows on my pc.
