I went to New Egg today to try and see the price on the Thermaltake Ultra 120 Extreme... and its not there. Any idea why? Not just out-of-stock, but not showing up at all. I Googled it in the site, and it comes up, but says "Discontinued".

Is there something wrong with it I don't know?

And also as an aside... has anyone put one into a p182 or 900? Does it fit well? How about the Gigabyte P35 boards? Any issues there?

Thanks in advance.

Which makes all the more odd that one of the top US internet Retailers has decided not to stock it.

Just thought maybe something was up. Like they found out it makes all the paint peel of your walls, and your iPod only play Jethro Tull.

I've made all the measurements and read and it should fit either way, horizontal/vertical. Except I believe it hits the side fan if put in vertically

Im ordering mine from Jabtech, its cheapest there

Preferably a high pressure fan so 120x120x38 instead of 25
It makes it easier for the fan to blow through the heatsink. High CFM also if you can stand the noise.

I've seen many different results. Some better blowing in others pulling out. You can try both ways and see which is better.

I don't know about you but I always pull... yea nevermind. I use an Ultra Kaze blowing air into the fins.

I saw a review where I guy did multiple tests both ways and pulling the air through somehow gave better results.

Im doing a push pull setup which is best but largest and loud!!!

How are those Ultra Kaze's? Do you know what the static pressure is? I'm looking at getting some Sanyo Denki San Aces for various things, but if Ultra Kaze's have higher pressure (I believe San Aces have about 6.26mm H20 pressure) I might grab a few 😀. See the Fan roundup in my sig for reference, or if you don't know what San Aces are.

Unfortunately Scythe doesn't have published specs on the fan. In addition to that I don't have a manometer or anything setup to guage it with.

Both the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and the Cythe S-Flex 120 (SFF21F) are IN STOCK as of 2008 Jan 28 @ www.axiontech.com I just got them both.

@Silverion77 I am going to try all set ups with the fan. Push only, Pull only, then Push/Pull together. I have tons of room...I just am a bit concerned about the extra weight. Also...Where am I going to plug all these extra fans in? MOBO?

I use peanut butter and a 5lb steel dumbbell hand weight. Obviously the case is forced to lay down but the numbers talk. I get about 40~41C MAX with 8 hours of prime with my Q6600 at 3.6Ghz.
