I'm on the border of a nervous breakdown. It's because Windows 10 isn't picking up the updates that I should be receiving today. Is it not every second Tuesday that these updates come in? Or does Microsoft only allow certain to get these updates in a progressive manner?

Solution

It's September 28. By my count this is the FOURTH Tuesday of the month, not the second (which was the 14th). I'm guessing you're thinking it's every Tuesday FORTNIGHTLY (as opposed to the second Tuesday of each MONTH). That is incorrect.

What does your Update History say?

I'm showing updates on the 14th as well, then two more on the 17th but those two might have been as the result of a stuck update I manually installed. So the 14th as the last listed updates would be correct.

Edit: The 17th was indeed the manual install. The 14th was the last time updates were issued. You're fine.

This is my most recent:

Ok, but since Windows updates come out every two weeks, today is the due date, correct?

Second Tuesday of every month. AKA 'Patch Tuesday'.
Not every second Tuesday.

It's telling me I'm up to date. Why am I thinking that Windows updates comes out every two weeks. If we want to say twice a month, that's ok, but it has been two weeks. Is no one else getting updates either?

Ok, now I understand. Thank you so much for that information.

Once a month, on the Tuesday that comes after the first Tuesday of the month.
AKA 'Second Tuesday'

Got it. Thank you again for clarifying this.

"We have released Cumulative Update to Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14393" "

:??: Why are you telling him to do an update for an Insider Preview build??

OP, do NOT do this update. It shouldn't let you install it anyway but don't even try it.
