Where should i plug in my GPU Fan?

Hi guys,

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but i have just got a new computer with an Asus H81M-K motherboard and i'm unsure where to plug in my GPU fan. Apart from the CPU fan socket, i can only see one CHA_FAN socket, whilst on my old motherboard i used to have the fan connected to an OPT_FAN socket. So my three questions are as follows:

1) What is the difference between CHA_FAN and OPT_FAN (apart from one meaning chassis and one meaning optional)?

2) Is it ok to plug the GPU fan into the CHA_FAN socket rather than an OPT_FAN socket?

3) My fan cable has a 3 pin connector, whilst the CHA_FAN motherboard socket is 4 pin. Is it still possible to connect this, or will it not work correctly?

What GPU are you using that does not have it's own fan power?

There's no difference between CHA_FAN and OPT_FAN.
Can't answer that last question.

yes you can connect 3 pin cable to 4 pin, it'll only fit in one location.
your gpu fan should be plugged into the gpu itself unless you are talking about a side case fan?
