Where to buy Windows 10? (downloadable)

I'm building a new PC, I have no plans on adding a DVD reader (or whatever its name is) and the USBs that contains Windows are being sold on my country, using a Reship company and ordering them from Amazon means that It could get seized by customs (since its not that cheap).

Anyway to buy it online? download it on my USB? while doing everything in a legit way?

you buy the code from amazon/digital river etc. (legitimate sources), and download the iso from microsoft.

And to make the USB flash drive bootable so you can install Windows from it, there's a useful programme named Rufus.

I would just add that it is also possible to ensure you get a genuine licence, you can buy it from Microsoft when you download the ISO.

Instant activation isn't a guarantee that the key won't fail later when it becomes apparent to MS that it was stolen or issued for OEM only.

yes, but why pro? just get home there are few advantages to pro, and most of them are related to work environments.

Is buying the license useless? I just read that you can install it without the product key, the only thing you will get is the watermark in the bottom telling you that you should activate your windows, and you simply won't be able to change your wallpaper, that's it?

It is not 'useless'.

That watermark appears on top of everything. Including games.
No personalization of the desktop
No personalization of the Taskbar.

Apart from that, an Unactivated Win 10 seems to run OK. So far. This could change at any time.

But for Pro vs Home? Unless you know you need the extra features in Win 10 Pro...Home is just fine.
