I bought new all new pc parts. I had my bios downloaded to my mbo without cpu attached. I’m unsure what step to install the drivers for graphics and processor as well as windows 10. Do I install and download them to a flash drive like the bios?

Go to above link and make your own Windows 10 installation media.

You need a USB flash drive of at least 8 gb size.

Boot from it with only 1 hard drive connected. It will install Windows 10 to that 1 hard drive, including a bunch of drivers.

That should get you up and running on Windows.

do I need to have anything connected for the installation? And does the formatting need to be fat32 for the flash drive too?

Windows will do the required formatting.

Assuming all your parts are in working order, all you need to connect is mouse, keyboard, and monitor. If something is defective, of course you will have problems.

The important thing is to have ONLY ONE HARD DRIVE connected. The one that you want to get Windows on.

Do you have a valid Windows license?

I’ve gotten all new specs. I’m switching every component except the storage. But I’ve had this pc for a long time and I’ve downloaded a lot of files and programs, while also being too young to think about organization. I already have to buy a new windows 10 key. All my games are through Steam, Ubi, etc.

Could I just wipe everything off of my storages and restart my pc experience? Like what can/do I lose in a real sense?

I do not have a windows license. I just switched cpus bc the other one didn’t support the windows I prefer

"Could I just wipe everything off of my storages and restart my pc experience? "

What, specifically, do you mean?

All new parts generally requires a full OS reinstall.

If you don't have a license, you will have to buy one from a reliable source.

Reliable sources would include Microsoft direct, Newegg direct not a reseller, or Amazon direct, not a reseller.

You can buy Win 10 or 11 in either Home or Pro versions. You can upgrade 10 to 11 at no cost or you can just buy 11 if you want it.

You'll have to check to confirm if your hardware supports 11.

No reason for most people to buy Pro version to get its few extra features. Don't know if you are one of the exceptions.

The installation instructions would remain the same.....use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool and a USB flash drive of at least 8 GB capacity.

I think you may be able to buy a USB flash drive with Windows already on it, but there certainly shouldn't be any advantage to doing so.

If you buy a Windows license and do a clean install, you WILL DEFINITELY lose EVERYTHING on the Windows drive UNLESS you copy that stuff off to some other drive. Your music, your pix of grandma, your applications, whatever is on the drive.

Stuff that is NOT on the drive to which the clean install is made will not be affected because you shouldn't even have them even connected.

It's up to you to know where your stuff is....on which drive, on which partition, in which folder, etc.
