What's a good place to finance a gaming pc? I looked at xidax, and origin but they seem to want to charge 2x what a computer is worth to build. Is it worth it to go for a newegg card and finance with that? I would prefer to build.

Solution
Rent-A-Center (or Aarons) is in fact about 3x retail.

I looked that up recently for another user here.
$950 laptop at Aarons was $325 at BestBuy.

Plus, they don't have anything remotely in the realm of 'gaming pc'.

I don't believe you're going to find anyone willing to finance a PC...

If your credit worthiness is good, you can just get a CC or other line of credit and use that.

No one is going to finance anything for your entertainment, that really isn't how financing works.

@greens people finance cars all the time, a Ferrari isn't for entertainment? Lmao. There are companies willing to finance computers. Amazon advertises it with their store card as long as the purchase is higher than x amount. I have good credit, I just can't seem to hear a reply from amazon. I'm looking for the best financing options not asking if there are any

Cars are not PCs. PCs aren't generally worthwhile for secured loans. You're usually just getting a very specific unsecured credit line for worse terms than your credit card.

Specifically financing PCs isn't a good business without either being the company that sells the PC (and making your profit with a horrific markup) or terms that are borderline usery. You're dealing with people that are likely, as a group, to be less creditworthy than the average credit card holder. You can repossess that $300,000 Ferrari far more effectively than repossess a PC, the latter of which would cost more to recover than the PC is worth in many cases.

LOL at me? More like LOL at the guy that doesn't understand subprime car loans. Its all predatory. They aren't financing your entertainment - they are trying to rob you - there is a big difference.

My mortgage is a very high 3.5%, THAT is what a normal finance rate looks like.

Cars financing, whether its a 2002 Dodge neon, or a ferarri, is intended to take your money from you, it isn't financing, its predatory.

That sounds about right with just about any form of 'entertainment' financing. Look at Rent-a-Center... same thing

I think rent-a-center almost hits 3x.

I've personally never actually rented from there and only know others who have, so I'm not sure on the ripoff level. I have a simple theory when it comes to stuff that isn't a necessity; "If I can't afford it right away, I don't need it right away".

Best place for PC financing is cash (actual paper money) in your wallet or from your checking (or savings 😉 ) account at the bank.

If you don't have the money to buy the PC you want now but you will have 2 or 3 times that amount in a year, why not wait and save for a few (3 or 4) months and just buy it for a normal price? If you wait until Black Friday and the Xmas/New years sales and grab what you can while it's on sale you'll save even more.

Don't pay interest unless you absolutely have to, like greens and his/her mortgage 😉

Best way to finance a PC is to ask Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Children, or even some very close friends. I would not waste my time or money trying to finance it through any other company unless:

1) They have a 6 or 12 month 0% interest and I was 100% positive I could pay it off within that time
2) I am desperately trying to rebuild my credit rating (but even so, there are easier ways).

Bottom line, it's just not a good idea.

BloodRoses has it right. "If I can't afford it right away, I don't need it right away".

Here in UK we have interest free credit cards. So, for say 12 months no interest is paid on purchases. Sure the same elsewhere.

I can go online now and be approved...so if you do actually have a good score (700+) that's by far the best option. As long as you know you can make the repayments and these cards exist in your country.
