Where to get a copy of windows?

I'm building a new pc and am giving away my current pc after I've migrated all my files to my new pc. The next owner would like the pc to run windows 7 but like most retail copies of windows they cost quite a bit, are third-party sites safe for buying a copy of windows? Or would it just be best to buy it retail? The owner does not plan on upgrading any parts in the pc

3rd party sites> maybe genuine windows keys at cheaper price but with no guarantee that it will work after a reinstall or that it will work in the first place.
Retail> Guaranteed genuine keys(if bought from a trusted reseller) plus support from Microsoft.

I bought a retail key for USD 5.99 and it works great so far and is genuine.

Try Amazon for genuine copies of Windows 7 with licence & Product Key. Any that are dirt cheap should be avoided.
