Where to get a new controller board for my hard drive?

Hello all, I am new to the forum, so, hello. I have an older Western Digital 500gB external hard drive that the controller board is fried. I have looked around for a new one, but haven't seen anything less that about $60 on donordrives. I was hoping someone may be able to offer some alternatives as to where I can look for one a bit cheaper.

I presently have a similar problem (WD BAD PCB USB) and intermittent connectivity issues with another same drive (both are WD Passport USB 500MB). I can't offer a solution, but I will be following this thread in case someone offers one.
