Where to get cheap graphics cards?

I am looking to replace my GTX 760 with a 970. Where can I get the best prices? For how much do you think I can sell the 760? Is there anywhere where I can buy refurbished? Should I even bother with used?

All the cheaper ones that I can find are either blower coolers or poor quality open air coolers. The EVGA cooler is very efficient, not to mention one of the best looking.

The 760 isn't worth very much, certainly under $100 for a used one.

What about the preformance difference? Is it really as bad as sites like GPU Boss (obviously a biased sight) say it is? I also understand it runs hotter and noisier.

Are you referring to the GTX 970 vs R9 290X? The 970 is cooler and quieter, with a slight performance edge*. And yes, GPU Boss is extremely biased towards Nvidia.

New, the 290X has the best cost/performance, but as you are willing to consider open box/refurbished, that $263 GTX 970 is a better deal than the $259 R9 290X

*970 performance edge is at 1920x1080. At higher resolutions the R9 290X takes back the performance crown.

263$? Which one? If you're referring to the deal Woody1999 linked, I'm not from the US so it doesn't apply to me 🙁

Well, basically, just compare prices at whatever stores you buy from. If the cards are the same price at the store, get the GTX 970. If the 290X is cheaper, get it.
