Where to install drives

I have a Dell 1535 laptop with windows 7 and swap out the HDD to run XP for several special programs. When I run XP I loose the function of my WIFI and the DVD reject key. I copied the driver file from windows 7 drive but need to know where to install them on the XP drive. PLEASE HELP

You're trying to use a Windows 7 driver to run Windows XP-based hardware? That won't necessarily work. You may need to search for XP-specific drivers for the hardware.

You probably need the drivers for XP, not win7.

The dell has the Dell Wireless WLAN 1397/1510 Half MiniCard or Intel Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300. You need the driver for winxp.
