RX 480 is faster than GTX 970, there's a 8GiB GDDR5 version, and it's releasing soon.
 
The RX 480 should be out in a couple of weeks and will have better performance than the GTX 970 and cost less. No need for unlocked CPU, cooler and faster RAM if you won't be overclocking.
