I'm fine. I'm not sure about people who are all going crazy about something as mundane as a video card generational launch. It's like they haven't seen this happen many times before. I worry about them. Is the SARS-CoV2 pandemic got them so stir crazy that they'll celebrate anything?

Next in: We'll be covering the next Full Moon! <- Kinda like this

I've been gaming since the late '70s and this is the most excited I've been about a graphics card since the early GeForce cards (Bye bye Voodoo2!). The paradigm shift to (usable) rtx is significant to me, especially with VR starting to progress at a faster pace.

But, I also skipped a generation this time around because the 2080Ti didn't seem ready for prime time (My 1080 SLI even seemed to work better with some of my favorite games). The 3090 (and the 3080), OTOH, I'm very much looking forward to picking up ASAP!

I'm also excited about the potential within another 4 years to have 8k at 120hz/fps. That will allow me to use giant immersive screens (65") at a very close distance without pixelization. This is great for FPSs and Simulators. The more true to life-size the game, the easier it is for the brain to wire/generalize between contexts (at least that's been my experience over time...).

I like the part about rtx will be the foundation of space/time travel. It makes sense to me. Being able to predict the path of a photon in space and time would be important for telaportation and stuff

Only if time travel and teleportation occurs inside the Matrix...

RTX 3090 AND RTX 3080 BOTH

There is a huge Price difference between the 3080 and the 3090 which hints at a coming card in between at $999

and given that the "Ti" name is allways a flagship name since forever , a 3090 ti will appear 100%

RTX 3080 ti will come and RTX 3090 Ti will come
I don't think so. Jensen introduced the 3080 as their flagship. He introduced the 3090 as their new Titan part. My bet is the 3080 gets a Ti/Super first, as like you said, that's a big price gap. The timing will depend on how AMD's new cards perform.

There are already leaks that there is going to be a 20GB 3080 and a 16GB 3070. 10GB of GDDR6x is not likely to be cheap. There's your $900 card. I would expect a 3080Ti next year.

does not make any sense ... That huge memory (more than 10GB) is only needed in 8K gaming. 20GB 3080 is a waste and 16GB is impossible for RTX 3070 no practical need for that. the Ti cards will be faster GPU not just more memory.

The Titan is still coming. Nvidia wont cancel the Titan Brand for any Generation. it will come.

You have to remember how fast these new cards are. A 3070 is as fast as a 2080Ti so it is perfectly capable of 4k gaming. There are plenty of games with high resolution 4k texture packs that won't work on an 8GB card. 16GB is probably overkill, but to maintain the same memory bandwidth as the 8GB model, all they can do is replace the 1GB chips with 2GB chips.

not really , people who want to game on 4k will pick the 3080 and not the 3070 and 10GB is more than enough for 4K gaming. no one would pay for 16GB on 3070 and not pick 3080 , so here is your first no sense . 16GB 3070 will be same price of 10GB 3080 and it is no brainer which to pick.

3080 sound great with some exciting changes to the fundamentals. I'll be looking out for the benchmarks, but twice the performance of the 2080 ti at 4k is massive.

3070 doesn't seem that much cheaper for quite a reduction in performance... usually the extra $1-200 gives a small increase. We'll see, but this does look like big news and worth the wait.

The next tough bit is... when to buy!

Did an 8GB RX470 make sense? How about the 16GB on the Radeon VII? Logic often doesn't enter into the equation. People will see bigger numbers and just assume it is better, doesn't matter which numbers.

Nvidia could squeeze the 16GB 3070 in at $650 so it still undercuts the 3080.

Radeon Vii was not a gaming card .. and I am not going to waste time arguing about fake leaks and you trying hard to defend rumors that are not logical at all .

I for one am completely disappointed! I was expecting 2x 2080ti performance for half the price. Oh well! Looks like I'll grab an AMD card that is guaranteed to reach 3090 levels of performance for a few hundred dollars! If not, I'll just wait till I can get 4k 144fps for less than $500.
