Where would be the firmware update for Samsung SM961 be located?

I just finished reading Tom's review on the SM961 for 256, 512 and 1TB editions. With this being an OEM drive, where would one look for an updated firmware for drives like these or the SM951?

Just curious where to start looking or keeping an eye out.

One would think that would be the case, however in the article it suggested that due to it being an OEM product, Samsung probably wouldn't release it there. In fact according to the website, there has NEVER been a firmware update to the SM951 or the 941 either. 🙁

As it is an OEM product, its meant to be sold to OEM manufactures, who write their own FW for the drives. Samsung has never supported OEM products directly.

I have seen a few people on other sites that have used the Samsung nvme driver that is on HP's website....

I have not used this driver myself yet but I will be once I have actually built the new computer up....which will include a Samsung SM951 512gb M.2 drive.

Looked into this a bit further and yeah, this is the NVME driver for the Samsung 950 which works great with that M.2 Drive. It doesn't work tho with the SM 961. 🙁

Did you attempt to install the driver and it wouldn't allow it?

The Samsung NVME driver is only for the 950 PRO.

I know that the Samsung website specifically says its for the 950 pro model, however I have installed that very driver for my SM951 without any issues.

I have heard that the Samsung driver on their site does halt installation with the SM961, however I'm sure I've read that people have used the HP link of the Samsung driver for the SM961 models without issue.
