Describe a "bottleneck" to me please, and with
Biostar TA970 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD FX 8350, 8core, 4.0 GHZ, 16MB cache

Corsair 2x4GB (8 GB total) 1333mhz

250GB Samsung SSHD

But the 550Ti would be the bottleneck?:...how so? and what would elimiante it, which GPU would be best ...definately a straight up hardcore gaming PC.

Monitor resolution set at 1600x900

Solution
Yes. The 550 "bottlenecks" the 8320. If you use that GPU then you could have used a cheaper cpu and got the same frames. A bottleneck can be anything that holds the rest of your system back from it's full potential. So 1GB of team, using XP, a1024x768 monitor, etc are all examples of bottlenecks on modern gaming machines. If you can, get a better GPU. A new monitor soon as well.
no 550Ti wouldn;t be a bottleneck. but if you paired it up with a say Pentium 4, that would be bottleneck as the P4 doesnt have enough processing power to feed the GPU so it cant unleash 550Ti's full power. same thing would happen if you had yur current setup but equipped it with 2GB ram.

for 1600x900, something like HD 7850 should be more than enough. and they are pretty cheap too, like 130$ or so.

Awesome, thanks. Any suggestions on a NVIDIA GPU that''ll get my system to it's fullest potential with the hardware i listed?

I suggest going with a GTX760. It's slightly overkill for 1600x900 in current titles, but it'll last you a long time at that resolution.

Will
ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card work in
BIOSTAR TA970 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard that has a PCIe 2.0x16?

The GTX760 is PCIe 3.0x16
