I recently assembled my first custom tower and during the installing of the OS (following the instructions of a newegg video) I left the HDD unplugged so that the OS would install to the SSD thats also apart of my build.

However after all the basic installs were done and the MoBo drivers updated (via thumb drive) I plugged the HDD back in....

However if I go looking through my drives on my computer the only drives listed are the C: and CD/DVD Drives and the C: drive is lsited as only being 230GB.

This wouldnt be a problem if it werent for the fact that my HDD is 3TB and the one listed is more in line with the size of my SSD--

Is this... whats supposed to happen--did I miss a step? Where is my HDD--and how do I get my system to recognize it?

-----

I can say that Ive made certain to go thru my BIOS and all the SATAs are enabled and in the list of devices hooked up to the SATA ports the HDD is listed as being connected.

Thanks to both commenters! Luca for telling me the big picture and Hawk for telling me that little tidbit that applied only to the large size of my HDD. Its now online and recognized as a drive.

Solution
This is quite an easy problem to solve all what you need to do is this , go to the control panel and click on administrative tools and then on Computer management then on the left hand side there should be a storage tab . Click on it and you'll find the SSD and the HDD , right click on the HDD and you'll see a bunch of options , Click New simple volume and then a bunch of next next next options and your new HDD is online
