Which 1440p (QHD) monitor would you pick?

I'm currently using a Sony 32" 1080p LED TV as my computer monitor and everyday TV. I'm looking to get a QHD monitor for the extra real estate. My budget is around $500 and I plan to get a GTX 970 to power the extra pixels. I will use the monitor for everything from gaming, to programming, to consuming media. With all that said, which monitor would you pick?

If I get a 27", I fear it will be too small to watch movies while sitting on the couch (~6-10 feet away). In that case, I would mount my Sony on the wall above my desk for movies and cable TV. If I got the HP, I wouldn't need to mount the Sony. The problem with the HP is the 7ms response time. Is this going to be noticeable in games like BF4?

The response time probably depends on the person. I am using a Benq bl3200 and am glad I went with it over the 27. Any of the IPS or similar panel displays are going to have more lag than a typical TN panel, you just need to test it out and see if you notice it. If you get it from Amazon they should let you return it without a hassle if you don't like it and want the 27.
