[SOLVED] Which 250 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe?

I am looking to get a M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD and use it for OS drive only. 150 GB is tops that I will need on my OS drive.
The following are in my range.

1. Samsung 980 250GB (M.2 PCIe)
2. Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB (M.2 PCIe)
3. A2000 Kingston 250 GB (M.2 PCIe)

My mobo will be either of the two mobos (CPU - 11400)

1. ASUS PRIME B560-PLUS, ATX
2. ASRock B560 Steel Legend, ATX

the samsung 970 is the fastest drive, but ether samsung drive would do.

These are PCIe 3.0 drives.
Will they work on the M.2 PCIe 4.0 mobo slot? Are the mobo slots downward compatible?

We have only the 500 GB of the 980 Pro available. It is way overpriced back here @ twice the price of Samsung 980 & Samsung 970 Evo Plus.

It's also twice the speed and it's always premium price for "newest and fastest"
Remember prices for first SATA SSDs ? They used to cost more than today's most expensive NVMe for several times higher capacity.
